UP Loot Accused Surrenders With “Don’t-Shoot-Me” Placard: Cops

Budaun, UP:

With a “don’t shoot me” placard around his neck, a suspected robber turned himself in to police here in the district on Tuesday, an official said.

Furkan aka Sadua, who is accused of robbing a Rs 5,000 trader along with his accomplice Qamar on April 5, arrived at Behta Police Station in Faizganj, Budaun’s Superintendent of Police OP Singh said.

As he approached the police station, he had a placard hanging around his neck, the SP said, adding that the placard read: “Don’t shoot me, I’m surrendering for fear of the police.” After the attack, while Qamar was caught by the police after a shootout, Furkan managed to escape, the SP said.

A sum of 25,000 rupees of the looted amount was also seized by Fukran, he added.

The accused Furkan was also carrying a reward of 25,000 rupees when he was arrested, the district police chief said.
